    my question is why.
wouldn’t a plugin to add the ribbon to applications like web expressions or publisher be more useful?

  2. Hi Alec, thanks for the comment.
Adding the Office 2003 style menu structure to Office 2007 would be done purely for convenience. There are many users out there that were initially overwhelmed at the major revamp of the menu structure in Office 2007. So, having the Office 2003 menu as well would act as a fallback for them while they became familiar and found their way around the new menu structure.

Do you mean software to covert an applications menu layout to a ribbon style layout? I have had a (quick) look and have only found software which will allow you to do this for an applications that you are writing. I like the idea and I will investigate further…

    yes kind of,
in ms07 publisher and web expressions do not have a ribbon.
not that i would ever use publisher.
i would use web expressions and i installed it because i was looking forward toward to the ribbon but it doesn’t have one.
so i went looking for one and didn’t find anything.
    p.s
also if i try and load your blog in internet explorer at school it fails,

Thanks for that. Seems it fails in IE anywhere. I haven’t used IE for so long I didn’t even notice. Probably doesn’t like one of my plugins…
